Fallsview Casino Resort: our review

Last updated · facts verified

Fallsview is the name most Canadians reach for, and the numbers explain why: 372 rooms planned around the falls, a floor of 3,200-odd slots and 110 tables, two theatres led by the 5,000-seat OLG Stage, and 20-plus places to eat. Nowhere else in Canada stacks that much behind one front door — or gives it that view.

Ideal for: The big-occasion weekend: view, headliner and casino, all reachable by elevator.
Think twice if: You live for buffets, or the under-12s expect pool time with no parent alongside.

The pitch

Elsewhere, the casino is the product and the bedrooms are the add-on. Here it runs the other way round. Fallsview says every one of its 372 rooms and suites was planned around an outlook — Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls, the city of Niagara Falls, or a mix. Downstairs: 200,000 sq ft of gaming, with 3,200-odd slots and 110 tables. Around it: two theatres and twenty-plus restaurants and bars. Arrive Friday, and the car can sit in the garage until you leave.

Sleeping: buy the view, not just the bed

Deluxe is the entry category — one king, two queens or two doubles, plus a sitting corner with a writing desk, coffee maker, in-room safe, iron and hairdryer. What changes from room to room is the window: Horseshoe Falls, American Falls or city. Even the resort's own FAQ concedes that a falls-facing room may show you both cataracts or just one, so name the category you want and have it written into the confirmation.

Five suite tiers sit above that. Diplomat: on the tower's curve, panoramic falls or city outlook, whirlpool tub. Parlour: American Falls side, pull-out sofa, second TV. Executive: separate bedroom, partial falls view. Ambassador and Premier: falls-facing with a separate bedroom — and in the Premier, full living and dining rooms plus an oversized bathroom.

Rooms are ready at four in the afternoon and due back at eleven. Room service works in two shifts: mornings seven till eleven, evenings six till eleven.

Playing

The floor is 19-plus and ID-checked; strollers and babes in arms get turned away too. Drinks flow at the Infinity Bar between 9 am and 1:50 am. The rewards card is Momentum (Mohegan's programme): Core is free, then Ignite, Leap, Ascend and Soar. Drivers should aim for Ignite, because from that level up casino parking is complimentary — while everyone else pays a garage rate the resort sets day by day.

Shows: Fallsview's real edge

Two rooms do the heavy lifting. The OLG Stage seats 5,000 and, per the resort, puts nobody more than 150 ft from the performers; it also points to Billboard naming it Canada's number-one venue in the 2,501–5,000 capacity class. The Avalon Theatre is smaller — 1,559 seats, all within 100 ft. Together they account for the 320-plus shows a year the resort advertises. December plans? Niagara Falls Tourism has Christmas On Ice at the Avalon from 26 November to 20 December 2026: season fourteen, 32 performances.

Eating and drinking

Two restaurants wear OpenTable's "Top 50 Hotel Restaurants 2026" badge: Ponte Vecchio, the Italian, and 21 Club Steak & Seafood, the resort's flagship. Beyond them you can eat Cantonese at Golden Lotus, or try the Noodle Bar, The Falls Deli or the Sushi & Oyster Bar; Bar Barista switches from espresso to cocktails as evening comes. The Galleria arcade adds Shoeless Joe's, Paramount Fine Foods, Vittorio's, Lucky's and a taproom from Niagara Brewing Company. What you won't find: a buffet (there isn't one at the moment) and, before long, Dragonfly — the nightclub is closing after nearly 20 years, and its replacement is still unnamed.

Unwinding

Pool: indoors, 7 am–10 pm, daily key required, under-12s only with a parent. Gym: 7 am–9 pm. Spa: Damara Day Spa, where a relaxation massage appears at $158 on one tourism ticket listing.

Getting there

Toronto is an hour and a half away by the resort's estimate, Buffalo 45 minutes, Pearson about 125 km. Weekend and holiday GO trains link Union Station with Niagara Falls. On Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and show days a free shuttle runs between Fallsview and Casino Niagara every 30 minutes, 4 pm to 12:45 am. The garage holds over 3,000 vehicles, with ten EV chargers (P1 has four, P5 six). Animals: certified service animals only.

Our take

The one to book if you only book one. Spend the extra on a falls-view category, check the show calendar before settling dates, and if you're driving, join Momentum first — the parking line is where a Fallsview bill creeps up.

Before you book: common questions

Is a falls view guaranteed at Fallsview?

Not unless you pay for it. Each category faces one of three ways — city, American Falls or Horseshoe Falls — and the resort's own FAQ admits that some falls-side rooms take in only one of the two. Reserve a named falls-view category, then get it in writing.

Does Fallsview run a buffet?

Not currently; its dining page says there is no buffet in operation.

Can I bring kids to Fallsview Casino Resort?

Yes. Only the casino floor is 19+, and under-12s may use the pool with a parent.
