2026 ranking
Canada's 10 best casino hotels for 2026
Last updated · facts verified
Canada has plenty of casinos with a hotel bolted on, and only a few true resorts — places where you can bed down, dine, see a show and play without stepping outside. This ranking covers the resorts. Twelve properties were scored on six criteria, rooms through to access, and the ten highest totals are listed below.
Every score is our own editorial call, built only on what the hotels and our named sources publish. Nobody paid to be included, and nobody can pay to move up.

Each of the top 10 in detail
a wall of falls-facing rooms over one of the country's largest gaming floors
Fallsview is the name most Canadians reach for, and the numbers explain why: 372 rooms planned around the falls, a floor of 3,200-odd slots and 110 tables, two theatres led by the 5,000-seat OLG Stage, and 20-plus places to eat. Nowhere else in Canada stacks that much behind one front door — or gives it that view.

Ideal for: The big-occasion weekend: view, headliner and casino, all reachable by elevator.
Think twice if: You live for buffets, or the under-12s expect pool time with no parent alongside.
758 rooms on the riverfront, staring straight at the Detroit skyline
Caesars Windsor is the giant of this guide: 758 rooms in two towers, most of them pointed at Detroit's skyline across the river. Add the Colosseum (5,000 seats, none over 225 ft from the stage), a floor of 2,000-plus slots and 80-plus tables, and a downtown address instead of a highway exit.

Toronto's newest mega-resort, minutes from Pearson and right beside Woodbine
The operator's boast is simple — more slot machines to choose from than anywhere in Canada. Around them, beside Woodbine Racetrack since 2023: a 400-room hotel, a theatre holding up to 5,000, sauna and steam room by the pool, a garage where parking costs nothing and a complimentary shuttle from Pearson. It's the Toronto area's newest big casino resort.

Think twice if: You want a pretty outlook (it's racetrack or city edge) or more than 388 sq ft in a standard room.
a five-star Hilton on the water, ten minutes from Parliament Hill
On the shores of two lakes, a five-star Hilton joins a Loto-Québec casino, ten minutes by car from downtown Ottawa. Pools inside and out, heated all year; a 17-room Amerispa; a 1,100-seat theatre; more than 1,400 slots. No casino hotel in Canada does wellness better.

riverside in Richmond, with a Canada Line station on the doorstep
For car-free travellers, River Rock wins outright: step onto the Canada Line next door and YVR is seven minutes off, downtown Vancouver eighteen. Then there's the stay itself — 396 rooms including some very large suites, Gordon Ramsay Steak (his first in Canada), a pool with a water slide and a marina on the Fraser.

Think twice if: A stadium-scale headliner is the plan — the theatre holds 965.
cottage-country casino with a 5,000-seat stage and a refit in progress
Headliners at a 5,000-plus-seat Entertainment Centre are still what pull crowds up the 400 to Casino Rama, on Rama First Nation land outside Orillia. What's changed is everything around the stage: rooms under renovation since 2025, a spa newly built at ground level, and three restaurant openings — Gateway's Atlas Steak and Fish the most notable.

an adults-only Hard Rock resort, the first of its kind in Canada, open since July 2025
Opened on 3 July 2025, Hard Rock Ottawa is the youngest casino hotel in this guide and the first fully integrated Hard Rock resort in Canada. Inside: 150 rooms (22 suites), a never-closing casino with 1,500-plus slots, Council Oak steakhouse and Hard Rock LIVE for up to 2,200. Every inch of it, hotel included, is 19+.

a Hell's Kitchen, twin NHL rinks and a tower under construction
Hockey, Ramsay and a big gaming floor — River Cree, just west of Edmonton on Enoch Cree Nation land, does all three. The hotel has 249 rooms for now; the resort adds twin NHL-size rinks, one of the largest casinos in Alberta and the very first Hell's Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay in Canada, with West Edmonton Mall a free shuttle ride away. An 18-storey tower is under way.

Think twice if: Only a brand-new room will do — those arrive with the 2027 tower.
Rockies-facing rooms at Calgary's south-west edge
Mountains on one side, the city on the other: Grey Eagle, run by the Tsuut'ina Nation at Calgary's south-west corner, has had a 178-room hotel since 2014, and on a clear day its west-facing windows frame the Rockies. Strong acts play its Event Centre (2,500 seats) and Little Chief ranks among the West's better casino kitchens. Downside: the pool stays shut through a renovation that runs into 2027.

the Maritimes' casino hotel, with big rooms and a pet policy
Casino New Brunswick has been open in Moncton since 2010. Its 126 rooms begin at a roomy 440 sq ft, with opening windows and views of city or mountain. It's Atlantic Canada's casino hotel: pool, on-site concert venue, free parking and pets allowed, with Magnetic Hill and Hopewell Rocks in easy reach.

Reviewed, but outside the top 10
Club Regent Casino Hotel
Canad Inns runs this hotel beside Manitoba's Club Regent Casino: 146 smoke-free rooms, about 1,200 slots plus bingo, and a 1,300-seat event centre. Practical, not glamorous.
Cascades Casino Resort
Gateway's Cascades casino in Langley City, attached to the 77-room Coast hotel. Good steak at ATLAS, round-the-clock gaming, free parking — no pool, no showroom.
