Opened on 3 July 2025, Hard Rock Ottawa is the youngest casino hotel in this guide and the first fully integrated Hard Rock resort in Canada. Inside: 150 rooms (22 suites), a never-closing casino with 1,500-plus slots, Council Oak steakhouse and Hard Rock LIVE for up to 2,200. Every inch of it, hotel included, is 19+.

The pitch

Rule one, before you book: the whole property is off-limits to anyone younger than 19 — hotel and restaurants as well as casino. Everything else follows from a $350 million rebuild of the former Rideau Carleton casino, reopened on 3 July 2025 under the Hard Rock name. Hard Rock International operates it under OLG and bills it as the first fully integrated Hard Rock resort in the country.

Sleeping

Of the 150 rooms, 22 are suites. Standard is Deluxe King or Deluxe Queen, 389 square feet either way, with the Queen taking up to four people. Step up to a Silver Suite for extra living space, or a Gold Suite for that plus a freestanding tub and a bar area. Music is the theme even upstairs: the "Sound of Your Stay" programme brings a curated vinyl selection and an in-room guitar.

Playing

Doors never close — 24/7, 365 days. More than 1,500 slots; blackjack, craps, roulette, mini baccarat and other tables at any hour; a new baccarat room; VIP high-limit gaming. Unity by Hard Rock has four tiers (Star, Legend, Icon, invitation-only X), and the higher ones mean cheaper valet and shuttle rides.

Shows

Hard Rock LIVE: 23,000 sq ft, up to 1,900 seated, 2,200 maximum. The Joint: 25 to 400. Free music: the Council Oak Lounge stage on Friday and Saturday nights, plus tribute and cover acts at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Eating

Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, modelled on the original at Seminole Hard Rock in Florida, is the headline restaurant; Sunday brunch runs 10 am–3 pm. Casual choices: Brick'd Italian Kitchen, YOUYU Noodle Bar, the Hard Rock Cafe. Constant Grind, the café in the Marketplace, is open 24/7.

Gym, pool, parking

Body Rock, kitted out by Technogym, opens to your room key at any hour. A pool doesn't appear on any amenity page the hotel has published, so plan without one. Valet runs day and night: $20 without a card, $15 at Star, $10 at Legend, free at Icon and X. There are two EV chargers.

Getting there

The airport is about two miles off. A property shuttle connects with the Leitrim and Uplands O-Train stations — $5 each way, $3.50 for Unity members, card or tap only. Harness racing at the raceway next door ended in March 2026.
